Nasiche didn't say a word to the male until they reached the borders of her land. "Are you ready? Once you cross this boundary, there's no going back." She glared, as if to intensify the threat. It was quite the leap...from luss grasslands full of food, to a barren wasteland, death in every grain of sand. The only way they had survived was by Aakesh's gift of partial rights to the hunting in the Herd Lands.

He sighed, following the queen as best he could without breaking off the leg. "Well, I just dun like Aekesh..I guess if's jus mee" he mumbled, he couldn't really talk well with the leg in his mouth. Bakari looked over the barren waste, almost feeling bad for this female. His mind turned to his mother and sister for only a few moments. Just forget them he thought, Thats your past..This is time for a...Different future he told himself, the sunny heat of the day beating down on him.

"You are not alone in your dislike for my brother. Most, if not all of us, hate him for the world he has doomed us to." She told the male, dropping what she had of the meat to return to her den. She came to a halt, nearly stepping on the small, purple-black form before her. "Get out of my sight, you filthy waste of my time!" she snarled, shoving the cub aside with a single swipe of her paw. The young female cub, identical to her mother but for her lack of damage and the addition of black flames, cringed in fear as the Queen passed.

|| I think this is the perfect time to let Arashi join in. ^-^ ||
Arashi raised his maw and gave a polite, respectful bow of his head as Nasiche pasted towards her den. He had scented her and the new male far before he’d heard them, with help of the blood soaked zebra’s thick scent.
His usually, irate-filled golden eyes landed solemnly onto the zebra for a few small seconds before turning his gaze towards the new lion that had his jaw still over the dead zebra’s leg. His eyes remained on him for a moment more, until he finally felt his curiosity over flowing. Nasiche had let him help her bring this zebra home, when she had the inescapably ability to do it herself? Had she let him join their little banished group? As his questions continued within his head, he unsheathed his charcoal claws and scraped at the hard rock in which he was seated on. It was of no threat to the new comer who stood not to far from him, but merely to find something to do, while in-fact sharpening his already piercing claws.
“So how do you fine yourself amongst this darkened lands?” he bellowed in his naturally deep voice, as he rose an eyebrow towards the male.

Bakari turned to see Nasiche throw the cub, he seemed to not care at all. That was how she raised the cub, then that was how he'd leave it be. Kar let go of the leg, licking his blood stained jaw. The light red blood had made his scars more visible, but there were other things on his mind then how he looked. He didn't care for that matter. Bakari had smelled Arashi befor they had gotten to the lands of the banished, yet he decided that bowing down to him was worthless. He was not the kingof the banished, or was he? Bakari could barely think of Nasiche having a mate, he couldn't smell any male on her.
He unsheathed his large claws, "I met Nasiche while she was hunting..That little witch of a Queen Cleo was also there..It was an interesting..Talk between the two. After that ended, I was invited" he replied, turning to face Arashi.
[Jessica, my female is almost like Arashi. Her name is Ainka, but she can only control small bits of sand. Hehe, coincidence. She's the mother of Bakari.]

The cub, princess of the Banished, by blood only, stood back up and headed towards the fresh meat once her mother was gone. She looked much more dignified, and it was hard to believe that she had been in such a graceless position moments before. She paid no attention to the new male, only tearing off a peice of the meat. Afterwards, she leapt up to one of the large rocks to bask in the sunlight and fill her growling stomach.
She listened, unnoticed as always, to the males' conversation. Invited? not likely...she scoffed, tearing a strip from the meat she had taken.

Meanwhile, in her den, Nasiche was restless. It was almost time...but would their feeble force of Banished lions and lionesses be enough?
((OOO! Plot reference!))
((And yes, it is a horrid post. Zalika needed a bit more introduction...))

Bakari ripped a chunk of meat from the stomach, walking off and laying down to eat. the cub that wasd of Nasiche's blood came up to the dead prey. She seemed to dignified, making the lion snort in annoyance. What was wrong with cubs these days? They all acted to much unlike their age.
[Ewww,short..I didn't have much to reply to, as I'm sure Nasiche won't like Bakari coming in her den]

((No, she'd get very upset. ^^; Probably banish him for awhile.))
Indeed, Zalika acted very much as if she were older than she actually was. Even if she suffered abusive distaste from her mother, she was royalty. It only seemed to fit that she acted as such. Once finished with her meal, she proceeded to bathe herself, ignoring the older males.
(Mine's purdy short too, but Zalika doesn't have much to do. XX;;

That’s awesome. Lol. Quite a coincidence indeed lol. ||
Arashi noticed the male’s claws unsheathe instantly and felt a flint of respect towards him, for he had only just joined their pride. This change was quite different for him, being that he rarely felt anything but distain towards male normally. He forgot his wondering head and stepped down from his rock, ripping a piece from the long-dead zebra with his mighty jaws, then returning to his rock to eat.
As he finished he heard something beside him, as his only daughter started to sharpen her tiny claws on the rock. He smiled down at her, as she then made her way to the zebra’s meat-filled carcass. She looked almost exactly like her mother, even though she was still yet a young cub.
******
Khatira torn a small strip from the zebra and stepped back a few feet so she could eat it. As she finished she looked around at the others, and spotted the new male. She had never seen him before, so she had to suppose he was new. She felt suddenly curious and padded forwards to where he sat.
“Are you new to the pride?” she asked as she sat not to far away, to where she was at a cautious distance, yet she could still hear. She’d learned from earlier experience that she should always keep her distance, for not everyone was as nice to her as her father.

Bakari chewed at the meat contently, his long tail swishing behind him. After finishing his portion, he lay lazily, stretching out his legs. Getting comfortable, he closed his eyes only to be awoken by the voice of a cub. He opened one eye and looked at the cherry colored cub. He was wondering if he'd even reply, sighing, he said, "Yes I am" befor getting up. He really didn't feel the need to strike a conversation with the cub. He gave a slight smile to her, and walked towards Arashi. "So, how long have you been..Here?" Bakari asked Arashi, looking over the barren place.

After contemplating for awhile the questions that swarmed about her mind, Naische exited her den. She absently stripped of a peice of the meat, still thinking intently. "You. New lion. What is your name?" She demanded, a glare frozen on her scarred face.
Zalika laughed lightly, though not loud enough for her mother to hear. An invitation was not quite her style. She just new that Nasiche was planning a test of loyalty for this male, and it seemed the time had come for his interrogation.
((Oh, and about the plot...there's a post about it in the News and Announcements section.))

Arashi opened his maw to begin to tell the new male of how Nasiche, and the rest of them, all had been banished from the glorious Pride lands to where they were now, but was stopped when Nasiche spoke. He shut his jaw and turned to look at her, and then back to the new male, a small smile piercing his maw.
Khatira looked up from where she was sitting, licking her paws. Nasiche clearly had something in store for the new lion, but what, she did not know.

Bakari at first was waiting for Arashi to speak, but got interrupted by Nasiche. "Bakari" he replied to her, there was clearly something she wanted from him. He un sheathed his claws, he knew it was something to do with his loyalty towards her. Something dangerous.
[Sorry it's short, I dont have time]

"And, as one of the Banished, will you swear to uphold our ways and do whatever is asked of you to prove you're loyalty and help reclaim our place in the Pride Lands?" She kept her gaze cold, a look that could easily cause the most practiced liars to be truthful. For a moment, her gaze flickered throughout the other pride members, before resting once more upon the new male. Zalika smiled. After he swore his loyalty, the true test would come...but did her mother already trust him enough to include him in her Plotting? Was his test to be a part of the Downfall? ((Ooh! Another plot reference! Yes, you definately need him in the plot. *pokes* The puzzle's not too hard... ))

"Yes, I swear to uphold your ways" Bakari replied simply. He did mean it, and knew that the test was next. He knew he wouldn't be easily accepted. Her gaze was cold, but there was nothing for him to be afraid of.
He wondered what Arashi had to do, as his daughter probably did nothing at all, being she was a cub.
