THE GREAT PRIDE

A roar echoes over the grassy Pridelands and through the dense jungle, where it causes birds to spring into the air. It continues through the Herdlands, where the beasts known mainly as prey are suddenly alert before bounding en masse in a frenzy. The call reaches a desolate wasteland, causing a lioness’s fur to stand on end in anger. Finally, now reduced to but a whisper, is dies in the swirling winds of an eerie desert. A lion, pelt as blue as the sky, closed his maw slowly as his roar died off in the distance. The day was well met, as it ment another day had passed that his humble little pride had survived. He leapt down from the enourmous rock upon which he hailed the daybreak, spreading great wings to glide to a stop before his den. He padded in, stopping to nuzzle his mate affectionately. ----------------------------------------------------- A snarl escaped the lioness's throat, as it did every morning at her brothers awakening. She glared at the decrepid soil beneath her paws, knowing it was by his command that she was doomed to her kingdom of the Banished. Rasalin smiled, looking up at the clear night sky, with it’s star twinkling, and the fireflies blending in with the night. She then looked over, looking strait at Vissna only to see him looking at her. She smile brightened, and she touched noses with him happily, then returned her gaze to the sky.

Everything look so perfect, she didn’t want it to end.
